Video 1: Coping with Cognitive Issues (22 minutes)
In this video, we explain the causes of HIV-associated dementia and delerium, and give examples of cognitive, motor and behavior impairments that are common in dementia. The well-written format includes instruction for caregivers regarding compensaating for memory problems and suggestions for those patients living at home.

Video 2: Managing Challengin Behaviors (24 minutes)
A description of the commi problem behaviors in HIV-associated dementia accompanites strategies for coping with anger. The script allows the caregiver to learn the OTSAR (On The Spot Arousal Reduction) technique, methods for controlling manipulative behavior and strategies to diffuse an angry situtation that has already started.

Video 3: Managing Depression (20 minutes)
The issue of depression witht he finality of an HIV/AIDS diagnosis is described in detail, including significant behaviors for which to watch and types of counseling that are appropriate with the person with HIV. Also, interventions for clients that discuss suicide are addressed.

Video 4: Managing Reptitive Questioning (17 minutes)
A patient with cognitive impairments repeats questions for two reasons: The need for information and the need for reassurance. This video introduces the Spaced Retrieval method for assisting the patient with cognitive impairment in remembering information in attempts to reduce repetititive questioning. Use of compensatory techniques such as message boards are discussed.

Video 5: Caring for the Caregiver (19 minutes)
The stress of caring for a person with HIV-associated dimentia can be overbearing if one does not take the time to also care for themselves. This video discusses techniques for helping the caregiver cope with feelings of isolation, uncertainty and fear.
